What’s On at Cube Youth

Background Info

Cube Youth (registered charity name Malvern Cube Projects) provides activities for young people aged 10-18. We offer free sessions which are fun and also provide something extra. Whether it’s learning something different, boosting confidence, meeting new friends, getting the scooter out or just relaxing, we have something for everyone.

We offer a term time evening programme of open access provision and small group sessions, see below for our current offerings. We also provide a range of activities and trips in the school holidays. Come along and meet our friendly Youth Work Team and see for yourself what we are all about!

VOLUNTEER

If you have some spare time, volunteering with us will have a meaningful and positive impact on the young people who attend Cube Youth, and your input could be invaluable to helping us with further developing our service.

We are currently extra keen to speak to people with a love of gardening or playing boardgames, especially Dungeons and Dragons. If you can commit to at least two hours on one evening a month then please do get in touch. All volunteering roles are subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references.

Staff:

JO
Youth Manager

Jo works with the Trustees and Youth Work team to deliver an ever-growing service that meets the needs of our young people. Jo is always keen to hear from young people, parents and potential partners for ideas for new activities or sessions so do get in touch! On a personal note, she loves the outdoors, including camping and SUP.

LIZZIE
Youth Engagement Worker

Lizzie’s experience involves supporting children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including children in care and in vulnerable situations. She is passionate about young peoples’ wellbeing. She loves the outdoors, walking, water and interior design. Lizzie can be seen achieving her aim to support young people to grow and gain confidence through support, activities and socialising with other young people at Voltage and Thrive.

SUE
Youth Engagement Worker

Sue became involved with the Young people at Youth Cafe recently when, as a volunteer with Malvern Green Space, she came to create costumes for the Sustainable fashion show held at The Cube in November. Since then, she has joined the Team and plans to bring many Eco-friendly projects to the group. She is passionate about building a sustainable planet for the next generation. She loves to get creative with upcycling and using natural materials.

LEAH
Senior Youth Engagement Worker

Leah works at the Voltage, Create and Youth Cafe sessions, using her vast experience of working with young people to make a positive difference to everyone that she spends time with. When Leah’s not at work, she’s at home enjoying time with her two little boys, and when she’s not in mum or work mode, then she loves to cook, write, craft, and collect quirky things…currently Indian duvets and a 1950’s tea set!

MILLIE GUY
Youth Engagement Worker

Millie’s friendly presence can usually be found at Youth Cafe and at our holiday activities. She also works at The Octagon at their Monday Youth Club for us. When she’s not working as a Youth Engagement Worker, or studying for her degree in a related subject, Millie loves to spend time outdoors with her animals and walking. She also likes to pass time doing artsy things, or chilling with her family.

IZAAC
Youth Engagement Worker

Izaac is new to Youth Work but when volunteering with us showed that he has the right skills and attitude to become a permanent part of the team. He currently works at Checkmate and Youth Café sessions. His favourite hobbies are both tabletop and videogames, walking, the occasional novice drawing and is always trying to find new music to listen to. You may also see him working shifts at the Garden Café at the Cube!

ALEC
Youth Engagement Worker

Alec is our longest serving Youth Worker. He currently supports at Checkmate, Youth Cafe, OUT2GETHER Youth and is one of our mentoring team. His main hobby is arts and crafts, particularly origami which he shares at our cafe sessions.

Abi
Youth Worker

Abi has always been passionate about supporting others, with a specific interest directed to helping and supporting young people. Abi is hoping to begin studies to expand on her knowledge and experience in this area. When Abi is not working at the Cube, she enjoys spending her free time baking and has a keen interest in all things astrology. Abi enjoys getting involved in all things crafty and is looking forward to getting stuck into more arts projects at the Cube.

JOSH
Youth Engagement Worker

Josh can be seen at Checkmate, the War Hammer group, Voltage, Thrive, and Youth Cafe. He used to work in the National Archives in the United States (which is where he’s from!) but has recently moved to Malvern (which is where his wife’s from!) He’s glad to be a part of the team and helping young people any way he can. He enjoys reading, writing, martial arts, baking, hiking, and traveling. Also food. He loves food.
