Our Community Garden

Cube Community Garden

We’re lucky at the Cube to have garden space all around our building and we aim to make sure that everyone can enjoy it. The garden is always open for people to use.

All our growing and gardening is done by volunteers. Our fantastic team makes sure that the garden looks its best year round and they carry out a huge range of jobs, from mowing the grass to planting seeds and picking veg. We meet monthly at weekends and we not only work hard but have fun doing it. Our amazing garden beds at the front of the building are full of flowers, fruit and veg which we use in the café or sell to raise funds for the Cube.

The beautiful Peace Garden next to the café was created by the Malvern Quakers. The Friends look after this garden, which provides a tranquil spot to rest and enjoy the scents and colours of this special place. A sunny patio and cob oven close by make this area a great meeting place.

On the other side of the building is our fire pit, which we use for youth activities, and the lovely planting beds which are looked after by members of the Connect groups, whose HQ is at the Cube. Take a look in summer to see what an amazing display they make.

And finally, we’re into all things edible, so we’ve planted a foraging hedge around our boundaries at the back. The fruit, leaves and berries are great for wildlife and for lotions and potions !

If you’d like to get involved with the care of the garden please do get in touch. No experience is needed, just a willingness to get stuck in and a sense of humour !
