We love performing with our Carnival Choirs and we invite you to join us for A Carnival of Carols on our December tour. There are no auditions and the choirs are open to all. Each choir will have a one-day workshop led by Andy Watts at which singers will learn arrangements in four-part harmony from the band’s extensive repertoire of festive music. You will be able to download sheet music and recordings to help you learn your part, and on the day of the concert there will be a final rehearsal with The Carnival Band. This year, the choirs will join us at Heath Street Baptist Church in Hampstead, London and The Cube in Malvern.
Please note, Maddy Prior will not be performing, so the choir will be on stage throughout the concert and will sing about 10 numbers.
TICKETS available from Malvern Cube Cafe and on-line https://www.malverncube.com/ticketed-events/

INFORMATION AND FAQs
Thank you for wanting to book for Malvern. Please read this before booking!
Can I come to the workshop but not sing in the concert?
The workshop is restricted to those who are singing in the concert.
Can I attend a workshop at one venue and a concert at a different venue?
We ask you to come to the same venue for workshop and concert, so that we can balance each choir and create a unified sound. You can sing in both choirs, but in that case we ask you to book for both workshops and attend all the rehearsals and we regret we cannot offer a discount.
How do I buy extra concert tickets?
You will be able to buy extra tickets at the workshop.
What time do I need to arrive on the concert day?
You should be in your seat ready to rehearse by 2.30 pm
Is the music difficult?
With enthusiasm and hard work anybody should be able to take part. You don’t have to be able to read music, but it may help. The mp3 downloads will help you to learn your part and practice between workshop and concert. We sing in parts (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) but the ranges are suitable for the average voice and are not extremely low or high.
Is it suitable for children?
We offer half price tickets for under-19s. The workshop day requires a high level of concentration and some children would find it tiring, but the atmosphere is friendly, and young people who have attended in the past have enjoyed the experience greatly. Recommended age 14 and above.
Is there a limit on numbers?
There will be 40 choir places available for each venue. We will keep a waiting list if the project is over-subscribed and inform you if we have a cancellation.
