It has been announced that HRH The Duke of Gloucester will be visiting the Malvern Cube Youth & Community centre on March 15th. The Duke will tour the building in Albert Park Road North and see some of the groups who will be engaged in activities on that day, representatives of whom will be presented to His Royal Highness. The Youth and Community Centre has been operated by Malvern Youth & Community Trust since May 2012, when Worcestershire County Council handed over the keys to the centre after agreeing to lease it to the voluntary trust. The last 4 years have seen Malvern Cube developing and its usage increasing; 3000 visitors a month now come through its doors. It hosts a range of services from the youth club, to exercises classes, to mum and toddler dancing as well as educational, arts and cultural activities. One of the major objectives of the volunteer community project is to raise funds in order to continue refurbishment of the building, including some redesign to create a multi-functional youth and community centre.
As the Trust nears its fourth year anniversary, the visit of His Royal Highness and the party of civic dignitaries to Malvern Cube is a great testament to the achievements of the trustees and the many other volunteers, and we are pleased that The Duke of Gloucester has the opportunity to see how the centre has developed and to meet some of the community for whom the Cube is now a crucial part of daily life in Malvern.
