Having made it through January in one piece, the days are starting to get a little longer, spring is on the horizon – and we have decided to celebrate Pancake Day next week (25th Feb). However if you are planning on doing something at home then why not follow a couple of the recipes below.

Tom Crawford is a tutor at St Hugh’s College, St Edmund Hall and St John’s College at the University of Oxford where he teaches maths to the first and second year undergraduates. He also runs his award-winning website www.tomrocksmaths.com and associated social media profiles on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube @tomrocksmaths. Tom describes his research looking at where river water goes when it enters the ocean and how we can use this knowledge to help to fight ocean pollution.

Gresham Professor of Geometry, Chris Budd OBE, is based at the University of Bath, where he is Professor of Applied Mathematics and Director of the Centre of Nonlinear Mechanics. He has a long history of engagement in the public understanding of science and mathematics through institutions such as the Royal Institution and the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.

Our sister Charity, Malvern Cube Projects delivers our youth projects and has been successful in a bid to the Community Fund of the National Lottery for funding to support us in sustaining our youth work at Malvern Cube.

We are delighted to announce that our newly appointed Centre Manager is Nicola Turrell.  Nicola is passionate about engaging with new and existing users of Malvern Cube and creating opportunities for them to become involved in the wide variety of activities and events on offer.

Review of No 1. Ladies Accordion Orchestra - As another Cube gig unfolded, any misgivings about this particular instrument (particularly played en masse) were well and truly banished.

Christmas came early for the Cube in the shape of a  generous donation from the Malvern branch of the TSB. Trustees Karen and Jo joined staff for Christmas drinks and nibbles and for the presentation of a cheque for £675.

As part of the inventive programming of FEAST two demanding shows were included in Saturday and Sunday evening ; " All of Me " and " Homeland"
