Weekends at The Cube are crammed with live music and performances. Up until the end of March we have…
Willie and the Bandits – a classic blues/rock three piece, but with the addition of unusual instruments and eclectic influences. Voted in the top ten must-see bands at Glastonbury 2014 by BBC Radio 1, they reached number 2 in the UK blues chart with their first single on downloads alone.
Now touring their third independently released studio album Wille and the Bandits fan base, repertoire of sounds, styles and innovation seems to be growing at an exponential rate!
Dreadzone – although this is now sold out, the presence of such a distinctive band as Dreadzone shows that The Cube is moving into inspirational and diverse musical territory – watch this space!
Maddy Prior – back in Malvern by popular demand, a true legend of British music, Maddy Prior has built her career on exploring various musical avenues.
There’s a St Patrick’s Concert, Irish Folk with Blarney Stone and BouZaTina
Plus we have a Northern Soul Night at the end of March, showing the uplifting film with Steve Coogan, Lisa Stansfield and Ricky Tomlinson, followed by a live DJ’s Northern Soul Dance in the theatre afterwards!
Look out for live theatre performance coming up in April – we have The Odyssey, a hugely enjoyable solo show, which is both charming and funny. Based (very loosely) on Homer’s epic poem, this is a terrific blend of mesmerising acting and delightfully daft drama…
Coming up later in the year, we have more theatre – Hairy Fairy Tales and The Selfish Giant, for instance – and live music – Chris Difford, Legend and the Wurzels…
Keep an eye (and ear) on what’s happening at The Cube!
